Admission Policy

St. Paul’s First Lutheran Preschool admits children 2 years of age through Pre-Kindergarten. The Preschool is non-discriminatory in that we admit students without regard to race, color, nationality or ethnic origin.

Illness Policy

Children showing any sign of illness should be kept at home. When a child becomes ill at school, the parents will be notified and the child must be picked up as soon as possible.

Medication Policy

St. Paul’s will only administer medications prescribed by a doctor, including over the counter medications. Medication must be in the original bottle with the child’s name and dosage clearly labeled.

Discipline Policy

All discipinary action will be on the basis of God’s Word and commandments, leading the child to know God’s forgiveness through Jesus Christ. The teacher will convey to the child both verbally and non-verbally the disapproval of his or her actions, not the child him/herself.

The staff will not use abusive, neglectful, corporal, humiliating, or frightening punishment under any circumstances. No child shall be physically restrained unless it is necessary to protect the safety and health of the child or others.

Late Pick-Up Fee Policy

Our preschool closes at 6:00 p.m. There will be a $1.00 charge for the first late 5 minutes and $1.00 per minute thereafter until the child is picked up. This fee is to be paid at the time of pickup, directly to the teacher who must stay late. If you know you will be detained, please notify the school immediately so that we can reassure your child. Remember that the staff are busy family members with commitments of their own. After one hour, the teacher has the right to notify the Police and take the child to an approved safe haven.

Emergency Procedures

Our preschool has regular fire and earthquake drills. For safety reasons, the children are raught some simple procedures of what to do in case of emergency. In case of evacuation, teachers will transport the children to the Church sanctuary, gymnasium or Faith Hall.
