Admission Information
Applications for enrollment at St. Paul's First Lutheran School can be requested from the school office.
Members of St. Paul's Church and all returning school families register their children in January for the next school term. Beginning in February, new applications will be accepted. All new applicants will be asked to set up an appointment with the principal so that he can explain the purpose of our school, what we teach and believe, and the responsibilities of the parents.
Parents who wish to enroll a child must submit a completed application after being interviewed by the principal. A referral form must also be submitted by the child's previous elementary or preschool teacher. A copy of the student's academic record and most recent report card also must be submitted to the principal. Children transferring from other elementary schools may be required to take an entrance exam to determine the child's academic skills and abilities in relation to our school's academic program. After all required forms and information are submitted, the application will be acted upon. Enrollment is then finalized when a parent submits the annual registration fee.
The age requirement for enrollment in kindergarten is in conformity with the regulations of the State of California: a child must have attained the age of four years, nine months by September first of the year for which enrollment is sought. The age requirement for enrollment in the first grade is that a child must have attained the age of five years, nine months by September first of the year for which enrollment is desired.
Parent involvement is valuable to our school, faculty, and children. It contributes to the success of our program of Christian education and benefits the education and growth of our school children. New parents are required to attend several orientation meetings during the first semester of enrollment. All parents are expected to volunteer at the school using their gifts and talents to support our program of Christian education. All parents are required to attend a parent/teacher conference at the end of the first quarter of the school year. If you are interested in enrollment, please contact the school office by phone(818.763.2892) or email at school@stpaulsfirst.org.
