Preschool Curriculum and Accreditation
St. Paul's First Lutheran Preschool is a fully licensed facility that meets and exceeds all state codes and regulations.
Our Curriculum
The curriculum at St. Paul's First Lutheran Preschool was developed to foster the growth of the whole child, spiritually, emotionally, physically, and intellectually. Keeping this in mind, we have established the following goals for the children:
The children are to:
- Develop a sense of security in being a child of God and have knowledge of Jesus' love for them and a respect for God's creation.
- Develop an ability to share, communicate effectively with peers and teachers, listen and cooperate with others to achieve a common goal.
- Develop large muscles and coordination through vigorous movement in indoor and outdoor activities as well as small motor skills and coordination in more quiet, controlled, precise activities.
- Develop positive self-esteem, enthusiasm for learning and a sense of belonging.
- Develop self-control, respect, and caring for self and others.
- Develop their cognitive abilities through exploration, experimentation, reasoning, problem solving, and rich language experiences.
- Develop prereading skills and a love and appreciation for reading.
Religious Curriculum
Throughout the course of the year, the children will be learning about God's love for us through His Son, Jesus, by the use of Bible lessons. We will use many different, fun, and exciting learning activities to lead the children to learn to apply the truths in their lives. By teaching God's Word in this way, it is much easier for young children to find joy in learning God's Word, and we pray it will lead them to share their love for the Lord with others.
God tells us in His Word that "faith comes through hearing and hearing through the Word of God." Therefore, it is important for us to know that you and your child are attending church. There will be times throughout the year when our preschool children will be singing in our worship service. Our Pre-K class will be joining the day school in worship on Wednesday mornings for our chapel services. If you do not have a church home, we invite and encourage you to join us on Sundays at 9:00AM to praise and worship our Savior!
