Divine Call
Dearly Beloved Saints in the Lord, Members of St. Paul's First Lutheran Church,
When the Lord called Isaiah to be his prophet, Isaiah said that he was not worthy to be in the presence of God because of his sinfulness. The Lord cleansed him and said, "Your guilt is taken away and your sin atoned for." At this point the Lord said, "Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?" Isaiah promptly said, "Here am I. Send me!" The prophet put himself at the service of his Lord because of the grace and forgiveness the Lord gave to him.
Because of the Lord's grace, love, and forgiveness, he has called me to be his public servant in the gospel ministry. It is with trembling hands and a comforted heart that I am privileged to be called by the Lord through you to serve as your pastor.
On Monday, August 4th, I received a Divine Call from our Christian brothers and sisters in Salt Lake City, Utah, to serve as their pastor, overseeing evangelism and outreach. As I prayerfully deliberate both calls, I am confident in the Lord's grace and direction that he will lead me to see where the gifts he has given to me might best be used for his kingdom. Confident that the Lord's grace overflows in the lives of his people, I am assured that Christ's kingdom will grow in both North Hollywood and in Salt Lake City.
I ask you to please keep me and my family in your prayers as this prayerful deliberation takes place. I also ask you to keep our brothers and sisters at Prince of Peace in Salt Lake City in your prayers as they keep you in their prayers. And finally, I ask that through all this, the name of the Lord Jesus will be glorified and his kingdom will grow.
To God Alone Be the Glory!
